Although I did not get this item this week, it is too good to not share! I saw this poster at a friends house and just had to have it. I ordered it for Jeremy as part of an anniversary gift last year...for FREE!
What do you think?

Settling in
Sometimes it is just too hard to say "no" to something that is free. Last week my husband had an opportunity to say "no", to, well basically, a whole living room set. Did we already have 2 couches, a coffee table, 4 chairs, and 2 credenzas? Yes, but what's one more couch, chair, table, and shelf?! With that said, our house was a bit of a disaster for a few days until we finally figured out how to redesign our whole main level. We decided to eliminate the playroom/art room and make that a t.v. room with 2 couches right next to each other. Luckily, the rest of our furniture fit perfectly in the main living space which has become my favorite room in the house.
This morning I was able to snap a few shots of our living room before the kids got all their toys out and we also devoured some waffles with home made raspberry sauce!

Deal of the week
As many of you know we are a family of four, living on one income, and are always looking for the best deals and prices on everything! Whether it involves grocery shopping at three different stores for the best prices, or stopping on a street corner for something that has a free sign on it, we attempt to always find a way to not pay full price on things.
So my goal now is to write a weekly post about a deal I may have found during our week, or an item that we got in the past that was a discounted price...(most of our furniture has been free!) To start things off, I found a pair of cute salt water sandals for Ruby on craigslist for only $8!

My mothers day
Our new favorite spot to go as a family...Silver Arrow Bowmen. This is where we went on Mother's Day! We all had our bows and Ruby even got to shoot with her new bow and arrows that my mom and step dad got her! All the targets are on this course are along a hiking trail that they've made specifically for shooting with your bow. Its was definitely a great spot to spend with my family on mothers day!!!

Rattlesnake Ridge
The last time Jeremy and I got to go out without the kids
was to see The Hunger Games, which was a bit of a disappointment compared to
the book and was very rushed. We went straight to the movie and came straight
home. But last Saturday was a very special
treat. My sister-in law gladly watched our kids all day while Jeremy and I went
on a hike. We went to Rattlesnake Ridge and completed the 5mile hike to the
top. It was so beautiful, but I must admit it reminded me of how afraid I am of
heights…it's the kind of fear where I can’t stop thinking of different scenarios in
which Jeremy or I would somehow slip off the edge of the cliff. Anyway, we
found a safe spot on the top to have some lunch then headed back down. At the
bottom was a calm lake that Wyatt fully enjoyed after the hike. Sometimes you forget how important it is to
have time as a couple away from your children. All of our focus could be on
each other and we were not interrupted by a crying baby or a poopy diaper,
although I wouldn’t change having those moments for the world, well maybe we
could do without the poopy diapers!

Last week
Our family took a little adventure last Monday to Vashon Island. We first stopped off to get some much needed coffee at Victrola and also enjoyed some delicious French Toast Donuts, yum!!! Once we got to the island I grabbed a map and Jeremy began to pick a few beaches to visit. We ended up only going to two because we got rained out, (thanks Pacific Northwest!) but it was well worth the trip. If you ever get a chance to visit Vashon island make sure to eat at The Hardware Store restaurant. Ruby was able to get one of her favorite meals, bacon and eggs with seasoned red potatoes.
